Jung Soo Yun

Jung Soo Yun studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at the International Academy of Voice, Cardiff under Dennis O’Neill and Peter Alexander Wilson. Recent and current opera includes: Rodolfo La bohème and Alfredo La traviata (Den Jyske Opera); Macduff, Italian Tenor Der Rosenkavalier and Nemorino L’elisir d’amore (Opera North), Alfredo (West Green House); Mainfroid and cover Henri Les vêpres siciliennes, cover Raimbaud Robert le Diable (Royal Opera House Covent Garden); Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi (Goteborg); title role Faust and Alfredo (Cork); Nadir Les pêcheurs de perles, Rinuccio, Trin La fanciulla del West and Flavio Norma (Opera Holland Park); Ruggero La rondine (Go Opera/Opera di Peroni). Other opera includes: Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor (Clonter Opera); Werther (Les Azuriales); Hoffmann Les Contes d’Hoffmann‚ Prince and Lensky Eugene Onegin (Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama). Recent concerts include his Wigmore Hall solo recital debut with pianist Joseph Middleton, BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night and BBC Radio 3’s In Tune. Oratorio includes: Messa di GloriaPetite Messe Solennelle‚ Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Haydn’s Creation. He won First Prize at the Montserrat Caballe Singing Competition, Richard Tauber Prize, Stuart Burrows Voice Award and Les Azuriales Opera competition. For Buxton Festival: Macduff Macbeth.
