Phil Wilcox

Phil’s most recent engagements include singing in the RSC production of King Lear at the Barbican Theatre; a recital of Liebeslieder Walzer (Brahms) for Oxford Lieder; a masterclass with Dame Felicity Lott for the London Song Festival; and performing Scarpia in Opera on Location’s production of Tosca. He was a member of the Chorus of Buxton Opera and covered the roles of Capellio in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Bellini) and Don Fernando in Leonore (Beethoven) for their 2016 season.

Phil currently studies with Alex Ashworth and Audrey Hyland at the Royal Academy of Music where he has appeared as Kalenik (May Night, Rimsky-Korsakov) and Liberto (cover) (L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Monteverdi); as Rambaldo in scenes from La rondine (Puccini); as Minskman in scenes from Flight (Dove); and given recitals at The Wigmore Hall and Marylebone Parish Church. He has been a soloist and chorister for the RAM/Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series and is proud to be a member of the Academy’s prestigious Song Circle.

Phil has appeared regularly as an oratorio soloist, recitalist and professional chorister throughout the country. He has performed several roles with ‘Young Opera Venture’ including The Count in The Marriage of Figaro and Papageno in The Magic Flute.
