Steven Griffin is a baritone from Nova Scotia, Canada. Steven holds his Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and his Masters in Solo Vocal Performance and Advanced Diploma in Vocal Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music.
During his studies Steven has performed a number of roles including David in Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, Melisso in Handel’s Alcina, Publio in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito, David in the RNCM’s production of Sondheim’s Company, Cascada in the RNCM’s production of Lehár’s The Merry Widow, and most recently Starveling in the RNCM’s production of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
In April of 2016 Steven joined the Opera North Chorus in their production of Wagner’s Götterdåmmerung. He was also a member of the chorus with the 2016 Buxton Festival in their production of Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi and Beethoven’s Leonore in which he also performed the role of second prisoner. Most recently Steven was a chorus member with the 2016 Wexford Festival in their production of Donizetti’s Maria de Rudenz, David’s Herculanum and Barber’s Vanessa.
