Buxton Poetry Competition
About the event
Join us as we celebrate the talented winners of the 2016 Buxton Poetry Competition. We’ll hear from head judge Matt Black, along with guest poets and competition winners as they present their winning poems on the subject of ‘Hidden’.
Hidden encompasses so many different aspects of experience. We hide treasures, feelings, thoughts, our best selves, our worst selves. We hide ourselves in work, at play, in meetings, down the pub, at parties and in classrooms. Socially difficult ideas get hidden. Animals hide and whole ways of life and places get hidden. Our dreams get hidden. The list goes on. Matt Black, Buxton Poetry Competition Head Judge
