Recent engagements: John Wilson Orchestra at the BBC Proms – Bernstein: Stage and Screen (BBC Radio3/ BBC4); Los Angeles Opera: Susanna The Ghosts of Versailles (CD/Pentatone), Berta The Barber of Seville, Marcellina The Marriage of Figaro; Opera Holland Park: Old Woman Flight; Central City Opera: Aldonza Man of La Mancha; The Florentine Opera: Madeline Jake Heggie’s Three Decembers. This season’s world premieres: Mark Adamo’s Becoming Santa Claus (The Dallas Opera/ DVD Pentatone), ‘Cross Currents’, a new song cycle inspired by Berio’s Folk Songs and composed by 11 composers for Lucy and BCMG, and for the Royal Opera House, Phillip Venables/ Sarah Kane 4.48 Psychosis.
