Trusts & Foundations
Buxton Festival is renowned for bringing many of the finest national and international artists and performers to the Peak District for a summer celebration of opera, music and literature. However, our work stretches well beyond the 17 day festival to include a year-round Education & Outreach Programme. It is thanks to the support of Trusts and Foundations that we can continue to develop this programme and introduce new projects and collaborations every year.
Music and the arts play a vital role in all our lives and providing opportunities for our local community to enjoy, discover and explore music and the arts is a core part of the Festival’s mission. Our year-round outreach programme has developed into a range of projects for different section of the community. In addition to our extensive schools programme, we also work with families, elderly people, children with special needs, and young people, currently engaging over 2,000 local people every year. Buxton Festival offers participants the opportunity to develop an artistic and aesthetic awareness through active engagement with experienced and highly qualified project leaders, which we hope will stay with them through their lives.
As well as providing a platform for established artists, Buxton Festival is dedicated to encouraging and promoting young performers at the start of their careers, enabling them to showcase their talents to a national audience. To this end we work closely with the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), Chethams School of Music and the University of Derby, engaging with their students and graduates in a range of professional development opportunities as part of our AIM Programme.
We would like to thank the following Trusts and Foundations for their support in 2016:

- The Stonehouse Educational Foundation
- The Bingham Trust
- The Buxton Hall Bank Trust
